Radiation checks at Japanese factories have become standard operating procedure in the wake of the crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, with automakers looking to ensure 100 percent safety for staff and consumers.
In line with the Japanese Automotive Manufactures Association (JAMA) announcement, Nissan, the first Japanese automaker to implement radiation testing for vehicles and parts before any shipment, has been initiating its check after the earthquake. As the results show that no vehicles or parts are at a level harmful to human health and there are no issues according to the criteria set by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), we believe that our products present no cause for concern to our valued customers.
